William Woods Partnership

вʿª½± (JC) established a partnership with William Woods University (WWU) that paved the way to promote associate degree completion at вʿª½±; establish articulation agreements for graduates to transfer to WWU; and provide graduates, employees, and alumni a more affordable opportunity to pursue a Bachelor's, Master's or Doctoral degree program at WWU in July of 2023.

Missouri Governor’s Student Leadership Forum

Samantha Strite was one of 80 collegiate students nominated to represent вʿª½± during the annual Missouri Governor’s Student Leadership Forum on Faith and Values held February 16-18, 2024, in Jefferson City, Missouri.

The Forum challenges students’ character development by encouraging them to reflect on their own decision-making skills, values, and belief systems. Students learn about how to reconcile relationships, stand for truth, and love others as they love themselves. The Forum’s guiding principle is teaching students to embrace altruism rather than egotism.

Women's Cross Country Team Earns Second-Place Finish at Nationals

In just the first year of having a Cross Country program at вʿª½±, the Women’s team earned 71 points and placed second at the 2023 NJCAA Division III Cross Country Championship in Huntsville, Alabama.

Team members who participated in the race were Sadie Brandt, Reagan Edwards, Lauren Hartman, Sophia Miller, Lucero Orozco, Hanna Spoon, and Kenzie Fulliam.

The Vikings saw three student-athletes earn All-America honors.
1-5 Finishers = First Team, 6-10 = Second Team, 11-15 = Honorable Mention

9th: Reagan Edwards, Second Team

10th: Lauren Hartman, Second Team

14th: Sadie Brandt, Honorable Mention

MCCA Award of Distinction Recipient, Dan Govero

The College is proud to announce that Dan Govero received the 2023 Missouri Community College Association's Award of Distinction at the annual convention in Kansas City. According to the MCCA, this award is given to individuals who have demonstrated sustained service and commitment to their local community college. It is one of the highest honors MCCA bestows.

Laura Asinger Receives Missouri Pathfinder of the Year Award

Congratulations to Laura Asinger, Hillsboro High School College and Career Counselor, for being recognized as the Missouri Pathfinder of the Year at the statewide MCCA Convention in Kansas City. This prominent award is presented to high school teachers and guidance counselors for their outstanding efforts in assisting students with their college-going plans.
