2023 Retirees and Employees  Recognized for Years of Service

A group of 52 вʿª½± employees was recently recognized during a ceremony for their years of service to the College, students, and the surrounding community. Each honoree received a token of appreciation signifying their number of years served.  

The College community gathers each year to honor and recognize distinguished staff and faculty members for their outstanding achievements and years of service. As valuable members of the вʿª½± family, all faculty and staff play a pivotal role in recognizing their colleagues and coworkers for their outstanding achievements.

AEL Program Recognized for Excellence by Missouri Department of Education

The Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) recently awarded the вʿª½± Adult Education and Literacy (AEL) program the AEL High Quality Award for exceptional student outcomes and program operations. DESE annually recognizes local programs that achieve outstanding student outcomes while maintaining a high degree of fiscal integrity in their program operations.

The вʿª½± AEL program earned the award for meeting all set targets for the 2021-2022 academic year: persistence, post-testing, measurable skill gains, and employment after exit. The award was presented to AEL Program Director Julie Johns at the Missouri AEL Directors Conference in Jefferson City.

вʿª½± Dean’s List Announced for Spring 2023

вʿª½± Vice President of Student Services, Kimberly Harvey-Manus, has announced the Dean’s List for the Spring 2023 semester, containing the names of 654 students who earned the academic recognition.

To qualify for the Dean’s List honor, full-time students must achieve a grade point average of 3.25 or higher (on a 4.0 scale) in at least 12 graded credit hours taken that semester. Part-time students who accumulate 12 or more graded credit hours with a 3.25 grade point average also qualify and must contact the Vice President of Student Services Office within ten days of grade reporting to be included.

Board of Trustees 2023 Meeting Dates

The вʿª½± Board of Trustees regularly meets in public session on the second Thursday of each month in the Administration Building Board Room on the Hillsboro campus.  

Trustees include Steve Meinberg, President; Krystal Hargis, Vice President; Ron Scaggs; Gary Davis; Margie Passmore; and Retta "Susan" Tuggle.

English Professor Receives Statewide Award for Excellence

вʿª½± English Associate Professor Lisa Ebert was recently honored by the Missouri Community College Association with the Excellence in Teaching Award. Nominees are submitted from every community college across the state and presented to two outstanding instructors for work done during the previous year.
